Choose one headline you created in Part B, Q#1 Part B and answer the following:
“Your fears of the ocean might be valid… don’t believe us? Look at our top 13 most terrifying deep sea creatures”
a) What is the primary intent of this headline? (e.g. curiosity, urgency, clarity, relevance, emotional pull)
The intent is at its most basic supposed to create curiosity with the viewer. Most people can be made to take interest in something when something out of the norm shows up. Saying your fears of the ocean might be valid, tells the viewer that something isn’t normal and this will make them interested in what you have to say.
b) What action or response is the headline designed to trigger?
The headline is designed to make the viewer open the article. When someone views this headline their curiosity will overtake them to click on the link.
c) Explain why this intent is appropriate for the target audience you selected.
This audience, as mentioned previously, is naturally curious and into science, otherworldly phenomena, the unknown, etc. I believe this headline would strike a nerve with people in this audience because it reinforces their beliefs. Or strikes wonder in their eyes.
